Context & design challenge

The UNDP Strategic Plan is a core corporate document that defines organizational priorities and accountability while serving multiple audiences, from Member States to internal teams and partners. The design challenge was to translate complex, policy-driven content into clear, consistent, and accessible formats across digital and print, without compromising institutional rigor or alignment with UNDP standards.

Developed through one of UNDP’s most extensive global consultation processes, the Plan positions the organization to deliver integrated, systems‑level solutions that respond to both country priorities and global development challenges.

Design strategy & implementation

A comprehensive information architecture enables easy navigation between high-level objectives and detailed thematic content across formats. A cohesive visual language was applied consistently across the interactive website, PDF publication, executive summary, PowerPoint materials, and social media assets, ensuring both readability and brand alignment.

Launch, Dissemination & Reflection

Formally endorsed by the UNDP Executive Board in 2025, the Strategic Plan was supported by a full suite of digital and print assets to enable leadership, Member States, and country offices to communicate the Plan clearly during the rollout. This project demonstrates how a holistic design approach can distill complex institutional priorities into durable, scalable communication products—reinforcing the importance of clarity, adaptability, and accessibility in supporting global engagement.

The interactive web version of the Strategic Plan is available in English, Spanish, and French, broadening accessibility for diverse global audiences. The print publication is available in all six official UN languages (English, Spanish, French, Arabic, Chinese, and Russian), reflecting UNDP’s commitment to inclusive communication. In addition, social media assets were produced in English, Spanish, and French to support global engagement and outreach.
